Hugh Pollock was a British author and soldier, born in 1888. He served in World War I, where he met and befriended a young officer named A.A. Milne. After the war, Pollock became a successful publisher, eventually becoming the managing director of Methuen Publishing. He continued to write books and articles throughout his life, including several biographies of famous military figures. Pollock was also involved in scouting and served as the Deputy Chief Scout of the Boy Scouts Association. He passed away in 1971, leaving behind a legacy as a respected author, publisher, and military figure.
